CLUB HISTORY

The First State Mini Club (FSMC -- Name Chapter C-150) was chartered in 1977 by Betty Lee and Lyt Patterson of New Castle, Delaware. About twenty people attended the first meeting at their home in December, 1976. That home has since been replicated in 1" scale and was donated to the Delaware Historical Society in 1998.

.

The Club has been active in national and regional N.A.M.E. activities. In 1997, the club requested that N.A.M.E. begin a youth membership category with reduced dues. This was approved at the 1998 national Houseparty (convention) in San Diego. Members designed and helped construct 121 centerpieces for the 2000 National Houseparty and, in 2002-03 serve on the 2003 joint E-1 M-1 Regional Houseparty.

FSMC is proud to note that, in 1999, the national president of N.A.M.E., the late Pat Bauder, and the M-1 Regional Coordinator, the late Bill Lytle, and the Delaware State Representative, Diane Scheuer, ALL were members of our club.

Today, our membership includes crafters and collectors at all levels of involvement, shop and business owners, miniatures dealers, as well as youth and adult newcomers to miniatures.  Meeting once a month from September through May at the New Castle Senior Center, with a business meeting and program, the club hosts the FSMC Annual Show, Competition and Sale. Partial proceeds are given to charity. Members belong to N.A.M.E. (National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts) as well as to the local club. FSMC is located within the M-1 Region (Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania)
